Heinz Foods – Wellington Condiment Facility Capacity Increase

Heinz Foods expanded their Wellington Condiment Facilities to include new Processing and Packaging Equipment and Services within a new Hygienic Production Building. The project started in 2015 and was completed early 2016. It included new Ingredients preparation plant, mixing, pasteurisation, CIP as well as a complete PET filling and packaging plant with the related services and utilities. New hygienic building infrastructure needed to be designed to meet the process requirements. Sirius was responsible for the design and procurement of locally supplied equipment, buildings and services as well as the Project Management duties.

Pioneer Foods – SAD Upington Raisin Facilities

Sirius Engineering was appointed as Project Engineers for the expansion of the SAD Upington Raisin Factory – Preclean Facilities in October 2015. The project included a new 2000 m2 process building housing the existing relocated Preclean Equipment as well as for a brand new redesigned Raisin Preclean Line. The project was completed in April 2016. The scope of services by Sirius was extended to include a new Super Clean Production Line as well as new staff canteen and ablution facility on the same premises.

Chateau-Gateaux – New Confectionary Factory, Durban

In 2013 Chateau-Gateaux approached Sirius to assist with the redesign of their existing Confectionary Production Facility in Riverhorse Valley, Durban. Following several iterations, it was decided that the existing premises would not suffice for their growth requirements. A new premise was identified and the facilities redesigned into a 7500 m2 building. Sirius was responsible for the concept design phase as well as detail process and process services design, procurement and project management of the process component. Production within the new state of the art production facilities started in April 2015.

Pioneer Foods – Weet-Bix Line 7- Atlantis

Sirius Engineering was tasked with facilitating the implementation of the new Production Line 7 at Pioneer Foods’ flagship Weet-Bix facilities in Atlantis Western Cape. The Project ran over 20 months with staged start-up between September and December 2016. The project included new Wheat handling and storage equipment, Process equipment, Primary and Secondary Packaging equipment – including a total redesign of the end-of-line packaging systems utilising new state of the art Robot Palletising systems. Sirius’s scope of services included the design of equipment (in conjunction with package plant suppliers) and services, procurement, and project management on behalf of the client.
